Our Services

The Department of Environmental Management was established to protect, preserve, and enhance our environment by promoting the wise management of our waste. The department manages Solid Waste, Recycling, Derelict and Abandoned Vehicles, and Wastewater services for the County of Hawaiʻi.

Our Mission

To maintain a clean, healthy island environment and promote stewardship and sustainability by managing wastewater and solid waste services, waste reduction and resource recovery in a comprehensive, responsive, safe and efficient manner.
